A Vision of the Long Trail

Getting our bearings.

Kevin and Rob are making their plans and figuring out the details of an Appalachian Trail hike. At first glance it really does seem like a quick prep of basic items and off we go. However, we are finding that there are many, many more details than we first imagined.

As we discover the ins and outs of this adventure we will be sharing those details with you. We were inspired to do this because as we surfed the net we found we didn't just struggle with finding out what we need and what we should do. It was even a bigger struggle and time sap to mine everything out. We would get great info in one place about a sleeping bag but for the tent we had to vet several other sites.

Scattered Intel

As we are figuring out the details and doing our prep and planning, we are finding that there isn't a single source with long trail hiking details. We find one backpack review here, another over here. Then neither one of those sites has info on sleeping bags, or trail food, or footwear, etc. All the information for a good trail hike seems to be scattered. Yeesh!

Well, we decided to pull out our own compass to get our bearings and create the one stop shop for prepping and research for the long trail.

If your going to plan a trail hike and it's all new to you, come back to our website for regular updates on our findings. We confess we are new to this process so we are taking a newbie perspective... but only to start! We will be developing our expertise along the way and intend to be a real live asset for future long trail hikers.
